Gracies Environmental Policy Statement

Gracies is a responsible family run business, we are committed to minimising our impact on the environment and promoting good environmental practice.
This policy sets out our approach to managing our environmental impact. We aim for continual improvement in mitigating our direct environmental impact, reducing use of natural resources and preventing pollution. We will apply this policy to all Gracies activity at all sites where the company has direct operational control, on or off the premises.

Gracies will:
• Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation applicable to our business and our operations.
• Assess the most significant environmental impacts from our business and set realistic targets for improvements.
• Monitor progress and report annually on environmental performance.
• Work to integrate environmental considerations into all business decisions.
• Use sustainable practices in property design and property management.
• Raise employee awareness of their own environmental responsibilities at work and their role in implementing this policy.
• Encourage business partners and suppliers to operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Conduct effective dialogue on environmental matters with all interested parties, as appropriate.
• Review this policy and any set targets annually

Gracies Waste Policy Statement

Food Waste – We donate our surplus food to those in need where possible.

Recycling – In partnership with TMBC, we recycle plastics and cardboard. Holding a DOC waste transfer Note. We minimise waste by reduction, re-use and recycling methods.

Straws – We replaced our plastic straws with a paper-based alternative.

Refill – We are signed up to the Refill campaign, which means encouraging people to use reusable water bottles instead of buying single use plastic ones by offering free refills in all our UK stores. Look out for the Refill logo in our store windows.

Construction Waste – We donate used equipment and furniture to charities and social enterprises to help them fit out other kitchens and cafes.

Carbon FootPrint – We replaced all our light bulbs with low-powered LED bulbs.
